We care for patients in a medical underdeveloped region by training the next generation of African health workers.
WE ARE CALLED TO ACT: ADVOCATING BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS IN AN UNDERSERVED REGION
Most countries in Africa are suffering from an extreme deficiency in medical specialists. Due to the acute lack of education opportunities especially the field of surgery is affected.
Therefore lifesaving operations are beyond the reach of most people living in sub Saharan Africa.
For people who live in remote areas with poor infrastructure, the situation worsens even more due to the migration of physicians into the larger cities and overseas.
To realize a future of sustainable health systems in Africa, training opportunities are urgently needed to train qualified African health professionals. The establishment of a surgical training program will not only improve the care of the regional population, but will also have a multiplier effect: in the future, Malawian specialists will improve the medical landscape in their country - independent of foreign aid.
